Mobile Residency inside bARTer truck
InSite is not exactly a parasitic program operating in tandem with RedLine’s exhibition, Not Exactly. Nikki Pike and Jennifer Miller, in association with the bARTer collective, produced and curated an artist residency in one-week increments inside the bARTer truck parked in the northwest corner of RedLine’s parking lot. Participants were selected to utilize the truck, the surrounding area and its location as an alternative studio space to their usual practice. Participating artists were asked to consider the following when conceiving their residency projects: 1) flow of pedestrian traffic 2) nearby shelters 3) surrounding residential neighborhood. As a result, artists have produced non-monetary exchange opportunities for the community as an integral part of their bARTer residency.
